SSE 4－終於完整
在轉換為 45 nm 製程的同時，Intel 為 Core 2 處理器導入了 SSE4.1 指令集。如 .1 數字所暗示，這只是 SSE4 指令集的第一版，仍未完整。現在的 Nehalem 則是啟用了完整整套指令。更具體地說，SSE4.2 加入七個新指令：CRC32、PCMPESTRI、PCMPESTRM、PCMPISTRI、PCMPISTRM、PCMPGTQ 與 POPCNT。
